Product Description
In 1942 Australia suffered the first Japanese bombing raids on the port of Darwin in the Northern Territory. The Australian Government appealed to the UK for Spitfire interceptors to meet the threat. The War Cabinet agreed to redeploy two RAAF Squadrons and a RAF Squadron, equipped with the Spitfire Mk. Vc.
In all the RAAF received 254 Spitfire Vc aircraft and there were a number of variations in the specific equipment fitted. Rotol and DeHavilland Hydromatic propellers were both used, the panels covering the cannon bay had wide and narrow bulges, and covers were sometimes fitted to the wheels.
This High Planes Plus Pack includes the additional parts and decals to build the RAAF Spitfire Mk. Vc from the Airfix Spitfire Mk. Vc (2020).
Detail set includes:
- Narrow cannon bulges
- dH Hydromatic Propeller & spinner
- 5 spoke and covered wheels
- Fishtail exhaust
