Competitive air racing started in the early years of the twentieth century and surged in the post-WWII era. The massive sale of surplus aircraft brought high performance machines to a far larger group, thrilling crowds at legendary events such as the Cleveland and Reno Air Races.
The competitors soon began to modify the stock aircraft to squeeze out extra performance, producing some of sleekest and the most colorful aircraft to grace the skies. The High Planes Racers range gives you a chance to model some of these aircraft.
